LAVIELLE ENDORSED BY CONNECTICUT REALTORS®

WILTON, September 17, 2018 — The Connecticut REALTORS© have endorsed State Representative Gail Lavielle (R-143) for reelection on November 6 to the General Assembly’s 143rd House district, which includes parts of Norwalk, Westport, and Wilton.

“We carefully evaluate candidates in determining who may best ensure there is a positive environment for living in or transferring property in Connecticut. Real estate is essential to economic recovery and stability in the state and the nation, and helps to build communities. Thank you for your commitment to serve,” said Michael Barbaro, President of Connecticut REALTORS®.

Connecticut REALTORS® is Connecticut's largest professional trade association, representing more than 17,000 real estate professionals engaged in all aspects of the real estate business. Founded in 1920, the association is dedicated to enhancing the ability of its members to conduct their business successfully while maintaining the preservation of private property rights.

“Connecticut’s REALTORS® are a bellwether for the state’s economy, and I’m honored to have once again received their endorsement,” said Rep. Lavielle. “I share their concerns about the effects on our real estate markets when people and businesses leave Connecticut for states with lower taxes and more dynamic economies. Also, as small business operators themselves, realtors have a first-hand understanding of the effects of mandates and onerous regulations on small businesses. I always count on them as a key source of information about the general public’s views on key economic issues.”

State Rep. Gail Lavielle represents the 143rd district, which includes parts of Wilton, Norwalk, and Westport, and serves as Assistant House Minority Leader. She is Ranking Member of the General Assembly’s Education Committee and a member of the Finance, Revenue, and Bonding Committee and the Transportation Committee. Before her election to the legislature, she worked for more than 25 years in finance, marketing, and communication, holding executive leadership positions with Fortune 500 corporations. She also served on the Wilton Board of Finance and the Wilton Energy Commission. She holds an MA in French from Yale, a BA in English from Cornell, and an MBA in finance from UConn, and is the author of a book on opera. She and her husband Jean-Pierre live in Wilton.
